A City of Gardena mayoral election will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, to elect the mayor of the City of Gardena, California, in Los Angeles County.

The current mayor is Paul K. Tanaka. Tanaka is not expected to run for re-election. He was first elected to the office of mayor in March 2005 and was re-elected to a second four-year term in March 2009.[1]

The position of mayor of the City of Gardena is non-partisan, as per Section 6 of Article II of the California Constitution.

The deadline to file to run for the office was December 10, 2012.

Gardena has a population of 58,829 as of the 2010 census. Gardena incorporated as a city on September 11, 1930.
